He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Slumber Parties

Yes he made counts. I swear this child is so unpredictable. You can never tell with him. His ANC was 60 last week. He has a cold with a runny nose and coughing. He's snotty and yucky and yet his ANC was at 1296. I give up.

So here we are. He finished his chemo infusion at 10 pm last night and has to get at least three doses of the rescue drug before we can get out of here. Hopefully by 5 am tomorrow morning we'll be walking out the door and headed home. Then it's back on Tuesday for some more out patient chemo. It just never ends.

Anyway, we're having slumber parties and doing great. Jeff got to stay last night with Joshua and I got to go home to Noah and Adam. Adam seems to have a cold as well so hopefully we don't have to make another doctors appointment anytime soon for him. Noah seems to have escaped it so far.
Also, there are a few newly diagnosed kids on the floor this week. Please keep them and their families in your prayers as they enter into this unwanted cancer world. I remember when Joshua was first diagnosed and all the fears, questions and concerns about the unknown that we had/have.

Well, i'm glad he made counts...yet I hate more chemo. BUT I also know it's the thing that must be done. I hope his body remains strong and he keeps that amazing smile throughout.

You are such a phenomenal mom, your capacity for love is greater than you can even imagine. I just love reading about your family and the times we get to chat.

Hugs all around!

Yay for good counts, slumber parties and construction toys! Boo for chemo and sick boys! (-:

Hope you're crossing that bridge early tomorrow morning, beating the traffic and heading home.

Lots of prayers and happy thoughts!

Hi! I've actually left 2 messages and this will be #3, because dial-up just stinks! I've got the whole message done, and guess what? Nope, can't find the stupid server and there it went. So, for the love of whatever, let this message work! I'm so glad that the counts were good enough to keep fighting! But, it's still so sad to have to imagine Joshua going through this. For any of the children! I pray for you all. I am so blessed with a good healthy boy, that I don't take for granted 1 day of his well-being. It can turn on a dime I know, and like you, I want to make every second count! Every time he plucks my nerves to the hilt, I stop and take a minute to think of you and so many parents like you and Jeff that just wish Joshua was getting into trouble and your frustrations with him would be because he threw something and broke it, rather than have to be so frustrated with a disease you have to fight so hard. So many people love you and understand what you're going through that have already experienced that. It shows in their messages. By the way - I'm wondering, and people forgive me if I'm wrong for saying it (somebody's got to) and if you know me, which you probably don't, it's surely NOT going to stick on my chest for long without asking: How many of you out there read Ami's blog and keep updated on the family, but don't feel comfortable leaving her and Jeff a message? It's important that you know how much this support helps Ami, Jeff and the boys through these awful days that we ourselves are lucky enough not to have to endure. Even if it's a hello guys, unless you regularly email and phone, they really need it from us!
